A collaborative build with architect Shope Reno Wharton for a family of five, with interiors completed almost entirely over Zoom during the first year of the pandemic. The family brought a personal touch throughout: the living room fireplace was built with granite sourced from the property, and commissioned artwork tells the family's story in abstract across the gallery hallway and dining room. Drawing from classical European influences filtered through her signature modern sensibility, Maureen created a home of considered contrasts, from the moody, light-filled double height living room to the bright kitchen anchored by a grand island with white Vermont Quartzite counters, a dramatic dark dining room at the end of a white gallery hallway, and spa-like bathrooms including a standout powder room in ocean travertine.
