East Hampton Sanctuary
East Hampton, NY
Inspired by a 300-year-old saltbox home in East Hampton's historic district, this ground-up build was designed in collaboration with Historical Concepts to feel as though it had grown organically over centuries. "Curated simplicity" shaped every decision, from a minimized footprint to interiors layered with antique pieces, European oak flooring, plaster walls, and steel windows that evoke a lived-in vintage essence. Winter McDermott Design channeled the stripped-down exterior into warm, textured spaces where furniture feels found yet refined, and rooms like the scullery, cold room, and parlor nod to the past while serving modern life. The result is less a house than a feeling: harmonious, welcoming, and organically luxurious.
